LaTonya King is a results-oriented leader with over 33 years of progressive human resources experience, including developing and implementing diversity, equity and inclusion strategies, and leading large scale organizational effectiveness and change management initiatives.

LaTonya leads Food Lion’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Organizational Development and Talent Acquisition functions, where she advises executives and key leaders on building a culture of belonging for 82,000 associates. She leads the development and execution of the company’s talent acquisition strategy and deploys organizational development strategies to drive talent, culture and business outcomes for the company.

Prior to joining Food Lion, LaTonya led Duke Energy’s workforce planning and development function and was responsible for leading the development and implementation of the company’s hybrid workforce strategy which aligned policies, processes, technology and workspaces to provide a more flexible and collaborative environment for employees. LaTonya has held previous roles such as Director of Diversity & Inclusion, Manager of Talent Acquisition, Lead Diversity Recruiter, Human Resources Business Partner and EEO Specialist for three plus decades in the electric utility industry.

LaTonya supports her community through volunteerism and has held roles such as Chair of the Carolinas Energy Workforce Consortium and past board experiences with organizations such as A Child’s Place, United Way of Central Carolinas African Americans affinity group and the NC Business Leadership Network. LaTonya is the current Chair of the Justice and Community Engagement Committee for Chosen City Church.
