Kathy Scott is celebrating 40 years as a store director for Ball’s Food Stores, she started out as a cashier and worked her way up to store director. Kathy embraces change, she has worked in 12 of the Ball’s Food Stores across three banners; Price Chopper, Sun Fresh and Hen House Markets while transitioning 16 times, from neighborhood markets to “state of the art” locations. Kathy was able to gain knowledge from all three generations as they are celebrating their 100th year anniversary at Ball’s Foods! Kathy loves people, she says that we are in the people business, we just happen to be selling groceries. Kathy enjoys growing leaders, she prides herself by having a positive atmosphere, and she leads by encouraging and inspiring her team to be competitive and having fun while doing it! She motivates her team to help them to be successful and to achieve their own goals. To help grow business, Kathy has had eight live interviews on local channels, 4,5,9 and 41 and one live radio commercial on 101 the fox. Kathy says “you have to be your own advocate” for yourself, your team, and your community, because If not you, then who? With Kathy’s determination and mindset, she has received several awards including:

Kathy is serving her 10th year on the board of directors for Executive Women International in Kansas City. She served two terms as President.
Kathy also served four years on the corporate board of directors for Executive Women International. Kathy served 1 term on the board of directors for South Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.
Kathy believes in living a well-balanced life, during her off time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Bob, and their family, including 9 grandchildren. Kathy and her husband together enjoy golfing, hiking, horseback riding and DIY home projects.
