Alice Chen is the Chief Executive Officer of 99 Ranch Market and transitioned into the CEO role in 2018 after spending ten years as the CFO. During the initial years, Ms. Chen grew to love and feel passionate about transforming the already iconic Asian food retail brand into a platform for Asian culture and food experimentation. She bought into the company’s unique position to honor not only the traditions of her Chinese heritage, but to bring forward what Asian food meant to her and how relatable that can be to every culture and background. Ms. Chen is recognized by Progressive Grocer as a “Top Women in Grocery.”

Prior to returning to the family business in California, Ms. Chen was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in New York. Ms. Chen holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Duke University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Columbia Business School. Up to today, Ms. Chen continues to give back to her alma maters through volunteering, mentoring, giving and advising. Ms. Chen currently serves on the advisory board of Global Family Enterprise Program at Columbia Business School.
