Kristin Popp is a respected leader in the grocery industry, recognized for her visionary leadership, commitment to people, and dedication to advancing the independent grocery industry. As President of Woodman's Food Market, Inc., an employee-owned company headquartered in Wisconsin, Kristin leads one of the Midwest's most successful grocery retailers, with 20 stores serving communities across Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
Kristin began her career with Woodman's in human resources, serving as Human Resources Director before advancing into executive leadership. With nearly 30 years of experience in the grocery industry, she has played a key role in the company's continued growth, operational excellence, and strong employee-owned culture.
A passionate advocate for leadership development and the advancement of women in grocery, Kristin recently completed her tenure as Chair of Women Grocers of America (WGA) and now serves as Immediate Past Chair. During her leadership, WGA expanded opportunities for education, mentorship, networking, and recognition for women throughout the independent grocery industry.
In 2026, Kristin was honored as the National Grocers Association's Woman of the Year and was named one of Progressive Grocer's Top Women in Grocery – Senior Executives, recognizing her exceptional leadership, industry impact, and commitment to developing future leaders. She has also been recognized by The Shelby Report as a Woman of Influence in the grocery industry.
Kristin is a founding member of Wisconsin's Women Grocers Network, an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for connection, leadership development, and support for women across the state's grocery industry.
She holds a degree in Business and completed the Executive Leadership Development Program at Cornell University. Through her leadership, service, and advocacy, Kristin continues to help shape the future of independent grocery while inspiring the next generation of industry leaders.
